SISTER lyrics:

You’ll burn a bit, my little sister
He’ll drop and taste the best of you
We will cement you into garbage
I swear I miss all of you

He’ll stay in every night praying for the same fight
A dull cloud comes over me, I waste him down
Waste him down

When he’s gone
It won’t be long
Until death is sprung

We were from the same womb
We were from the same womb
We were from the same good start
All I know
All I know is I’ll drag you all apart

Collapse your brain into rivers
My heart is pure, vain surprise
He swore he loved only the back of you
I choked and bathed in the lie

He’ll stay in every night praying for the same fight
A dull cloud comes over me, I waste him down
Waste him down

When he’s gone
It won’t be long
Until death is sprung

Your death has sprung

Critical reception

According to review aggregator Metacritic, Paradise has a weighted average of 81 out of 100 based on 15 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim".[1]

Consequence of Sound reviewer Dusty Henry described the album as the band's "boldest statement yet".[8] Pitchfork described the album as "more outspoken, more anthemic" than their previous album.[7] NME said: "White Lung have somewhat softened their ragged edges and in doing so have created one of the most compelling albums of the year".[9] AllMusic described the album as a "dynamic, purposeful work by a band coming into its own".[4] The Guardian's review noted that the album sounds "positively slowcore compared to their earlier work" but nonetheless remarked that "much of Paradise races past in an alluring blur of distortion and melody".[6] The A.V. Club said the band "stretch the seams of punk" with this album.[3] The Brooklyn Vegan named Paradise the number one new album of the week.[10] Drowned in Sound describe it as an "altogether more composed and melodic album".[5]
