My Fairy King

Written by Freddie, released on the album '' A Day at the Races'' 1976. The first UK single from ''A Day At The Races'' was released in 12 November 1976, A-side 'Somebody To Love', B-side 'White Man'. The video for 'Somebody To Love' was recorded at Wessex Studios in October 1976. This is the song which Freddie loved the most and it stands among his finest moments as a vocalist and songwriter. Peter Freestone reveals: - ''Freddie was asked many times about this [about which was his favorite song] in interviews and most of the time he avoided the answer, mainly because he didn't want his words to be turned around in print. He told me his favourite song was 'Somebody To Love'. The reason he didn't want to say this was because it was one of his own songs, and he didn't want it said that he only liked his own music and not any of the other band members''.
It was the song from this album on which Freddie, Roger and Brian multitrack their voices to create the impression of a 100-voice gospel choir . John didn't sing on the records, by his own admission he didn't have the voice, although aesthetically all four band members sing into the microphone.

Can anybody find me
Somebody to love?
Each morning I get up I die a little
Can barely stand on my feet
(Take a look at yourself)
Take a look in the mirror and cry
Lord what you're doing to me?
I have spent all my years in believing you
But I just can't get no relief,
Somebody, somebody
Can anybody find me
Somebody to love?

I work hard
(He works hard)
Every day of my life
I work till I ache my bones
At the end
(At the end of the day)
I take home my hard earned pay all on my own
I get down on my knees
And I start to pray
Till the tears run down from my eyes
Lord - (somebody) - somebody
(please) Can anybody find me
Somebody to love?

Everyday - I try ,and I try, and I try
But everybody wants to put me down
They say I'm goin' crazy
They say I got a lot of water in my brain
Got no common sense
I got nobody left to believe
Yeah - yeah, yeah,yeah

Oh, Lord
Somebody - somebody
Can anybody find me
Somebody to love?

Got no feel, I got no rhythm
I just keep losing my beat
(Keep losing and losing)
I'm ok, I'm allright
(He's allright,he's allright)
Ain't gonna face no defeat
I just gotta get out of this prison cell
Someday I'm gonna be free, Lord!

Find me somebody to love
Can anybody find me
Somebody to love?
Anybody, anywhere
Anybody find me
Somebody to love
Find me, find me, find me...
