No Worries with Japandroids

Japandroids haven't done too shabbily for a band that didn’t think they were going anywhere just a few years ago. As Brian King wails on ‘Young Hearts Spark Fire,’ he doesn’t want to worry about dying, just about sunshine girls…well, that and continue playing live for a long, long time. Even though two-piece groups seem to be all the rage these days in an attempt to fill the void left by The White Stripes, Japandroids aren’t in danger of disappearing any time soon. They’re part of a hipster-cool Millennial Generation of CANADIANS that includes fellow Vancouverites The Pack A.D. and PS I Love You, but they probably have more in common with earlier West Coast noise contemporaries Skinny Puppy. Let’s hope without the…let’s say theatrics, for those of you old enough to remember the latter’s heyday in the late-’80s and early-’90s!
