The Gospel According to John

I can’t believe this footage exists!  I was there, 2nd row center, aisle seat.

At the time, it was like … “Wait — this is The Big Song, and WHO’s singing it?? ... this is so not John … doesn’t make any sense. ... oh okay, they got Billy covering ...”

But then ... “Well, this really is a gospel song ... This is interesting. I wonder if this is how he heard it?” ...

And then, well, ... you'll hear what happens ... as the audience hears her and is in her hand, responding to every peak like it's a small jazz club.

This might look like some young unknown singer . . . but this chick’s 40 years old right here. I know!  And a monster vocalist — who never pimped-out for the drugs or the bucks.

In the Church of Radio City Music Hall, the greatest music venue in the greatest music city in North America, this Channel tunes in favorite son John in a way that makes the stained glass windows in Harlem shake.

If there’s somebody else out there who can sing like this, please do share.

Just imagine. It's where everything comes from.
