Elvis on Ed Sullivan in 1956
Elvis on Ed Sullivan in 1956

The King has a very strong representation of his work in commercial releases. Although in poor quality, the 1960 Frank Sinatra Show: Welcome Home Elvis has been released commercially.

Although most fans would've preferred for the performances not to be interrupted by Bono's narration, the three disc Great Performances set has received generally favorable reviews. However, some of the same performances are repeated over the discs.

The '68 Comeback Special has been released both in a shorter version and a deluxe three disc edition.

The 1970 That's the Way It Is concert has been released as an individual disc and a two disc special edition. However, some fans were disappointed with both releases as they do omit certain performances. To amend this, a trade-friendly release called Men with Broken Hearts surfaced - it contains extra songs not found anywhere else.

They've done a solid job of creating the illusion of a live performance with the Elvis Lives concerts - and the DVD actually contains some live performance material by Elvis not available elsewhere, such as Are You Lonesome Tonight which was cut from That's the Way It Is.

The #1 Hit Performances DVD contains an entertaining if somewhat random collection of live Elvis performance material, ranging from his '56 Stage Show appearances to his '73 Hawaii concert. Volume 2 also contains live material.

Elvis's complete Ed Sullivan Show appearances are available in this release under one disc.

For a solid overview of Elvis's movie performances, one can turn to the Lights! Camera! Elvis! Collection.

The 1973 Aloha from Hawaii concert has also been given the multi-release treatment - with a one disc release and three disc release available.
