Captured by Pawel

There is an Artwork included by Sonictrasher that was made for Pawel´s original version that includes an extra AC3 audio channel, the intro and the interview, along with 2 other songs from MMJ at Benicassim. Not included here. That versions needs a double layer DVD to be burned. Maybe Sonictrasher can modify his original artwork to fit the content of this version.

Enjoy and share.

Description: [show]

R&B legend Rick James was one of the most influential black musicians of all time. As an artist, songwriter and producer, James provided the funky hits that resuscitated Motown Records in the late ‘70s. His Punk Funk sound updated the label’s style and saw it through the mid-’80s. By 1981, Rick was at the peak of his commercial success with the platinum selling Street Songs album and the hit singles "Super Freak" and "Give It to Me Baby."
The following year, Rick James & the Stone City Band took the stage in Essen, Germany to open the 10th Rockpalast-Festival. This 1982 performance was the first time James played in Europe, bringing his brand of American Punk Funk to a whole new audience. Together with the Stone City Band, James did not disappoint, burning up the stage with his trademark sound and special effects.

Now for the first-time, this classic performance is available on DVD. Featuring classic hits like "You and I," "Mary Jane," and of course, "Super Freak," this is Rick James at his very best. Super Freak 1982 is not only a must-have collectors item but also a fitting tribute to an R&B legend.

If you are expecting just the videos for the tracks on Bob Marley's extremely successful greatest hits CD, you are going to be pleasantly surprised with this DVD. Legend is much more than a simple, video anthology. It is a historical telling of the music of Bob Marley presented in 23 videos, most of which are performances, and a 90-minute documentary. The documentary is a collage of images and video clips put to a running dialogue by Marley. Unless you are very familiar with the Jamaican dialect, it is recommended to watch this with the subtitles turned on. Interesting, but there are better documentaries out there (e.g., The Bob Marley Story: Caribbean Nights). It is the live performances, however, that make this DVD worth its weight in gold. Every person remotely interested in his music owes it to himself to witness Bob Marley perform on stage. Musically, Marley is as close to perfection as any artist can hope to achieve. But as a performer, he transcends beyond the secular pop star status to the mythic leader of a movement. Notable performances include eight tracks from the famous Live at the Rainbow recording (June 1977) and the early Wailer footage from The Old Grey Whistle Test recorded for the BBC in 1973 ("Stir It Up" and "Concrete Jungle"). They are simply hypnotic. The sound on the DVD, for the most part, is clear, crisp, and flawless ("Could You Be Loved" could have been touched up a little bit). A nice feature is the "playlist," allowing the viewer to play the videos in any order desired. All in all, a great package for a true legend.

Electric Light Orchestra - Live - The Early Years

[title-raw]
Commercial Release
Description: [show]

2010 is the 40th Anniversary of the Electric Light Orchestra. ELO was formed in 1970 by Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood from the ashes of The Move. Roy Wood soon left to form Wizzard and Jeff Lynne lead ELO on to become one of the biggest selling acts of the seventies and eighties with global album sales in excess of 50 million. This DVD brings together three live concerts from the earlier part of the band’s career. The first is a four track excerpt from a show at Brunel University in 1973, the second a longer eight track set filmed for the German TV series Rockpalast in 1974 and finally the Fusion concert from the New Victoria Theatre in London in 1976, filmed during the “Face The Music” tour. The DVD makes the perfect companion piece to Eagle’s Gold selling “Out Of The Blue: Live at Wembley” DVD (EREDV058 & Special Edition EREDV556). Bonus Features: Rockpalast interview.

Rockpalast is a German music television show that broadcasts live on German television station Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR). Rockpalast, which translates to English as Rock Palace, started in 1974 and continues to this day. Hundreds of rock and jazz bands have performed on Rockpalast. Some acts were recorded for broadcast throughout Europe and are available at retail outlets such as Amazon.com, others are featured on You Tube. From 1977 into the 21st century, the program has sometimes - once or twice a year -scheduled all-night marathon shows, "rocknights" which at least up to around 1990 were telecast live across much of Western Europe by the Eurovision[1] and which would go on until 4 a.m or later. Rockpalast once sponsored the Bizarre Festival and is involved in several other German rock/underground music festivals.
