The Hampton Coliseum is a multi-use cultural, entertainment and sports arena in Hampton, Virginia. Construction on the arena began on May 24, 1968 and the venue opened in 1970 as the first large multi-purpose arena in the Hampton Roads region and the state of Virginia, opening a year prior to Norfolk's Scope. The venue's capacity is configurable from 9,800 to 13,800 seats.

Hostings

The Hampton Coliseum was also one of several former homes of the American Basketball Association professional basketball franchise Virginia Squires. The Coliseum was also home to the Virginia Wings and Hampton Gulls hockey teams in the American Hockey League and the Hampton Aces of the North Eastern Hockey League and Eastern Hockey League. A part of Elvis' 1972 concert was filmed at the Coliseum for the documentary Elvis on Tour.

The 1987–1989 Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball tournaments were held in the Coliseum, as was the 1985 Sun Belt Conference tourney. The Hampton Coliseum is also the home of the Virginia Duals annual wrestling tournament, hosting invitational college and high school matches.

The Coliseum hosted WWF/WWE RAW, in 1998, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2011, as well as numerous other WWE events.

Several notable live albums have been recorded at the Coliseum, including Formerly the Warlocks by the Grateful Dead, Hampton Coliseum (Live 1981) by the Rolling Stones, Hampton Comes Alive by Phish, and Live Trax Volume 7, by the Dave Matthews Band.
